U Bar Ranch

U Bar Ranch is in the business of livestock production and ultimately beef production. We are located in the high desert of southwestern New Mexico, near Silver City. First and foremost, we produce quality, Angus influenced, commercial cattle.    

It is the philosophy of U Bar Ranch to produce animals that will “fit the bill” in the feedlot or out on the range. 

We began raising registered Angus cattle to produce bulls for our commercial herd. Since 1992 these registered animals have been bred for the genetics required for efficient production in our southern New Mexico and Arizona environments. 

Striving to produce moderate framed cattle that are lower in milk production and that are easy fleshing, is part of our breeding program. Our registered cattle have pedigrees which include sires and dams that are nationally known for strong maternal, growth and quality carcass characteristics. We also have bulls that are specifically bred for low birth weight potential. 

 U Bar Ranch offers high quality, ready to work registered Angus bulls and heifers. Each year in March, we participate in the "Ready for Work" bull sale in Belen, NM.  Another great way to acquire our cattle is by Private Treaty at the ranch in Gila. 

Annually we offer for sale commercial Angus replacement heifers, bred specifically to low birth weight registered U Bar Angus bulls.

Our cattle have been a beneficial addition to many other commercial and purebred breeders in New Mexico and Arizona. We look forward to meeting your needs as well!

Our registered bulls and heifers are raised on improved and native range pasture near Gila, NM.  On our vaccination programs the registered calves are on the VAC 35 program and our commercial calves are on the VAC 24.  We are BQA (Beef Quality Assurance) certified as well as all our employees who work with cattle.
